Chocolate Pudding Graham Cracker Dessert

This Chocolate Pudding Graham Cracker Dessert is a classic no-bake favorite that’s as easy to make as it is delicious. Creamy vanilla pudding, fluffy whipped cream, crisp graham crackers, and a rich chocolate topping come together in irresistible layers. After chilling overnight, the graham crackers soften into a cake-like texture, creating a cool, creamy dessert that’s perfect for holidays, potlucks, or any time you’re craving something sweet.

Ingredients

  • 1 (4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1½ cups whipped topping or freshly whipped cream
  • 1 sleeve graham crackers
  • 2 containers chocolate frosting or chocolate icing (about 15 ounces total)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Pudding

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk according to the package directions. Let the pudding sit for a few minutes until it thickens.

Step 2: Fold in the Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding until the mixture is smooth, light, and creamy.

Step 3: Build the First Layer

Arrange a single layer of graham crackers in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish, breaking the crackers as needed to fit.

Spread about one-third of the pudding mixture evenly over the graham crackers.

Step 4: Repeat the Layers

Continue layering graham crackers and pudding until all of the pudding mixture has been used, finishing with a layer of graham crackers on top.

Step 5: Add the Chocolate Topping

Place the chocolate frosting or icing in the microwave for 20–30 seconds, just until smooth and pourable.

Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the top layer of graham crackers and gently spread it with a spatula until completely covered.

Step 6: Chill

Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 8 hours. This allows the graham crackers to soften into tender, cake-like layers while the flavors meld together beautifully.

Slice into squares and serve chilled.

Tips

  • Use chocolate pudding instead of vanilla for an even richer chocolate flavor.
  • Add sliced bananas or strawberries between the layers for a fresh, fruity twist.
  • Sprinkle chocolate shavings or crushed graham crackers over the top just before serving for an elegant finishing touch.
  • For the cleanest slices, chill the dessert overnight before cutting.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
