Plush Baby Bull Amigurumi

Baby Bull made from plush yarn by @dary_toys is crocheted in the amigurumi technique. The toy is made using a 3.5 mm crochet hook and Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn. The bull’s head and body are crocheted as a single piece. The limbs are movable thanks to the use of cotter pin joints. The finished plush bull is approximately 20 cm tall.

Materials Needed:

  • Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Wooden cotter pins, 20 mm discs
  • Black yarn for eyebrows
  • Needles and scissors
  • Stuffing

Bull Crochet Pattern
Abbreviations:

  • KA — Magic ring
  • sc — Single crochet
  • ch — Chain
  • sl st — Slip stitch
  • inc — Increase
  • dec — Decrease

Arms (2 pieces)
Use dark yarn for the entire arm. Stuff as you go.

  1. 6 sc in KA (6)
  2. (1 sc, inc) * 3 times (9)
    3-4. 9 sc (2 rounds)
  3. (1 sc, dec) * 3 times (6)
    6-8. 6 sc (3 rounds)
    Insert the cotter pin, add stuffing. Set the arms aside for now. Continue crocheting after attaching the arms to the body:
  4. 3 dec.
    Close the opening.

Legs (2 pieces)
Stuff as you go.

  1. 6 sc in KA (6)
  2. 6 inc (12)
    3-4. 12 sc (2 rounds)
  3. (2 sc, dec) * 3 times (9)

Change to light-colored yarn.

6-10. 9 sc (5 rounds)
Insert the cotter pin, add stuffing. Set the legs aside for now. Continue crocheting after attaching the legs to the body:

  1. 5 dec.
    Close the opening.

Ears (2 pieces)
Do not stuff.

  1. 5 sc in KA
  2. 5 inc (10)
  3. (3 sc, dec) * 2 times (8)
  4. 4 dec.
    Leave a yarn tail for sewing.

Horns (2 pieces)

  1. 3 sc in KA
  2. 3 inc (6)
  3. 6 sc, sl st
    Slightly stuff the horns. Leave a yarn tail for sewing.

Body and Head
Stuff as you go.

    I am excited and can’t wait to make the Plush Baby Bull. My plan is to get it done for my daughter for Christmas. One suggestion I would like to make is not to make it so hard to get a copy of the pattern. I love these patterns and would love to make some for gifts.
