Free amigurumi dog pattern

Your finished toy size depends on your tension and yarn and hook combination.

You will need:

  • Gazzal Jeans yarn (58% cotton, 42% acrylic, 50 g/170 m)
  • 2.25 mm crochet hook
  • 7 mm safety eyes
  • Black and white embroidery floss
  • Sewing needle, scissors
  • Stitch marker
  • Fiberfill

Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
BLO – back loop only
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times

Ears (make 2)
For a dalmatian dog with black yarn:
R 1: 7 sc in magic ring [7]
R 2: (inc) repeat 7 times [14]
R 3-4: 14 sc (2 rows)
R 5: 6 sc, dec, 6 sc [13]
R 6: 13 sc
R 7: dec, 11 sc [12]
R 8: 12 sc
R 9: 5 sc, dec, 5 sc [11]
R 10: dec, 9 sc [10]
R 11: 4 sc, dec, 4 sc [9]
Fold the top opening flat and 4-5 sc through both sides.
1 ch, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Arms (make 2)
R 1: 7 sc in magic ring [7]
R 2-7: 7 sc (6 rows)
Change to sweater (for a male dog) or dress (for a female dog dog) color:
R 8-9: 7 sc (2 rows)
R 10: 6 sc only (the color changing of the yarn should be in the middle the inner part of the arm)
Stuff 1/2 full.
Fold the top opening flat and 3-4 sc through both sides.
1 ch, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Muzzle
With white yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (3 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [15]
Sl st, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Legs, body and head
Stuff as you go.

Legs (make 2)
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (1 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [9]
R 3: dec, 3 sc, inc, 3 sc [9]
R 4: 3 sc, inc, 3 sc, dec [9]
R 5: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) repeat 2 times, 1 sc [12]
Sl st, fasten off.

Crochet the second leg, do not fasten off.

Make 2 ch on the second leg and join with the first leg (after sl st on the first leg).
R 6: 12 sc on the first leg, 2 sc in 2 ch, 12 sc on the second leg, 2 sc in 2 ch (opposite side) [28]
R 7: Crochet additional 6 sc to move the beginning of this row, mark with a stitch marker, inc, (6 sc, inc) repeat 3 times, 6 sc [32]
R 8: attach the tail (in the center): 24 sc; 4 ch and from the 2nd ch from hook: 3 sl st; 8 sc [32]
