Bunny in Overalls Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Difficulty Level: Easy

This free crochet pattern by Galina Pisarenko allows you to create a bunny in overalls using the amigurumi technique. You can choose any yarn and matching hook. The same yarn thickness is required for the entire toy, and the overalls are non-removable. You can embellish them with a button, applique, or embroidery if you wish.

Finished Size: Approximately 15 cm (using 470 m/100 g acrylic yarn).

Materials and Tools:

  • Yarn of your choice with the same thickness (acrylic, cotton). Colors: two complementary colors for the clothes (A – brown, B – red), as well as white.
  • Pink thread for embroidery.
  • Crochet hook.
  • Safety eyes for toys (6-8 mm).
  • Stuffing for toys.
  • Stitch markers.
  • Pins.
  • Dry pastel or blush for shading the ears.
  • Needle for sewing parts.
  • Scissors.

Abbreviations:

  • KA – Magic ring
  • ch – Chain stitch
  • sl st – Slip stitch
  • sc – Single crochet
  • inc – Increase
  • dec – Decrease
  • (…) x n – Repeat n times

Instructions:

Ears (2 pieces):

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in KA.
  2. Rnd 2: 6 inc (12).
  3. Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18).
    4-7. Rnds: 18 sc.
  4. Rnd: (2 sc, dec) x 4, 2 sc (14).
    9-11. Rnds: 14 sc.
  5. Rnd: (2 sc, dec) x 3, 2 sc (11).
    13-15. Rnds: 11 sc.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Muzzle:

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in KA.
  2. Rnd 2: 6 inc (12).
  3. Rnd 3: 12 sc.
  4. Rnd 4: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18).

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Tail:

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in KA.
  2. Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9).
  3. Rnd 3: 9 sc.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Arms (2 pieces):

Start with white yarn.

  1. Rnd 1: 8 sc in KA.
    2-7. Rnds: 6 sc.
    Change to color B.
    8-10. Rnds: 6 sc.

Add a little stuffing. Fasten off and cut the yarn. Pull the stitches tight.

Legs (2 pieces):

Start with color B.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in KA.
  2. Rnd 2: 6 inc (12).
    Change to white yarn.
    3-4. Rnds: 12 sc.
    Change to color A.
    5-7. Rnds: 12 sc.

Fasten off for the first leg. Do not cut yarn for the second leg. Add stuffing.

Body:

Continue from the second leg. Add stuffing as you go.

  1. Rnd: ch 4, work in the stitches of the first leg: 12 sc, 4 sc along the chain, 12 sc on the second leg, 4 sc along the other side of the chain (32).
  2. Rnd: 6 sc, inc, 15 sc, inc, 9 sc (34).
  3. Rnd: 34 sc.
  4. Rnd: 15 sc, inc, 16 sc, inc, 1 sc (36).
    12-14. Rnds: 36 sc.

Now crochet 8 sc, move the marker here. The marker now marks the side of the body.

Change to color B.

  1. Rnd: In back loops only: 36 sc.
  2. Rnd: 36 sc.
  3. Rnd: 17 sc, dec, 15 sc, dec (34).
  4. Rnd: 8 sc, dec, 14 sc, dec, 8 sc (32).

Change to white yarn. Continue with the head.

  1. Rnd: (3 sc in 1 stitch) x 12 (36).
  2. Rnd: (2 sc, inc) x 12 (48).
    27-31. Rnds: 48 sc.
  3. Rnd: (4 sc, dec) x 8 (40).
    33-39. Rnds: 40 sc.
  4. Rnd: (3 sc, dec) x 8 (32).
  5. Rnd: 32 sc.
  6. Rnd: (1 sc, dec) x 10, dec (21).
  7. Rnd: Dec until closed.

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Pull the stitches tight. Attach the arms.

Pants Pocket:

Go back to Rnd 15. Count 3 stitches from the marker and start in the 4th stitch. Attach yarn in color A.

1-6. Rows: 11 sc, ch 1, turn (11).

  1. Row: Dec, 7 sc, dec (9).

For straps, make 15 ch on each side. Sew on. Attach the tail. Sew on the ears.

Finishing Touches:

Place the muzzle so its upper edge is at Rnd 31 of the head. Sew it on, adding a little stuffing. Embroider the nose. Use the diagram to make small indentations for the bridge of the nose between points A-B and C-D.
Attach the eyes. Embroider the eyelids and brows. Decorate the overalls as you wish.
