Rnd 17: keep working with brown yarn, 3 sc, switch to white yarn, 1 sc dec, 3 sc, 1 sc dec, 3 sc, 1 sc dec, 2 sc, switch back to brown yarn, 1 sc, [(3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep 4 times] (32)

Rnd 18: keep working with brown yarn, 3 sc, switch to white yarn, 11 sc, switch back to brown yarn,18 sc (32)

Rnd 22: working with brown yarn only, sc dec around (8); F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.

BEAK ( black thread; 1.75mm hook)

Rnd 1: 4 sc in a mr (4)

Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (6)

Rnd 3: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (8)

Rnd 3: sc even (8); F/O and leave a long strand of thread to sew the beak onto the head between rnds # 6-9.

WINGS ( brown yarn; make two; 2.75mm hook)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: 2 sc inc, 2 hdc inc, 2 sc inc (12)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice, 1 hdc, 2 hdc inc, 1 hdc, (1 sc inc, 1 sc) rep twice (18)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice, 2 hdc, 3 hdc in the next st, 1 ch, 3 hdc in the next st, 2 hdc, (1 sc inc, 2 sc) rep twice (26); F/O and leave a long strand of brown yarn.

Sew only the first and last 2 sts of the wing to the side of the bird’s body.
