Free crochet grinch amigurumi pattern

Skill Level: Easy

With this pattern, you can crochet a small Grinch—the Christmas thief—complete with a hat and scarf. Any semi-cotton yarn like Alize Cotton Gold, YarnArt Jeans, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others will work for this amigurumi.

Finished toy size: Approximately 10 cm.

Materials and Tools

  • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans in green, white, and red
  • Yarn: Alize Softy in white
  • Crochet hook: 2-2.5 mm
  • Thin black thread
  • 6 mm safety eyes
  • Toy stuffing

Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Insert 6 mm safety eyes between rounds 9 and 10, with 3 sc between them.

Face Embroidery

  • Use green yarn to embroider the nose between rounds 10 and 11, stitching 3-4 times across 2 sc.
  • Embroider white eye highlights with one stitch for each eye.
  • Embroider triangular eyebrows using green yarn, making 4-5 stitches on each side.
  • Use thin black thread to embroider the mouth. Place the upper lip between rounds 11 and 12, and the lower lip between rounds 14 and 15.

Using white Alize Softy:

Close the ring. Attach the pom-pom to the top of the hat.

Scarf

Starting in red:

  • Chain 4 and begin working in the 2nd ch from the hook:
    1-2. 3 sc in red
    3-4. 3 sc in white

Repeat alternating 2 rows of red and white until the scarf reaches the desired length. End with red. Cut 6 small pieces of red yarn and attach as tassels on both ends of the scarf. Trim to even the tassels.

The Grinch amigurumi is now complete!
