    3-4. 8 sc (2 rounds)
  3. (2 sc, dec) x 2 = 6 sc
    6-7. 6 sc (2 rounds)

Fold the piece in half. Crochet 3 sc across both sides to close. Fasten off with a slip stitch.

Lower Paws (2 pieces):

  1. 6 sc in MR
  2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 = 9 sc
    3-4. 9 sc (2 rounds)
  3. (1 sc, dec) x 3 = 6 sc
    6-8. 6 sc (3 rounds)

Fold the piece in half. Crochet 3 sc across both sides to close. Fasten off with a slip stitch.

Ears (2 pieces):

  1. 6 sc in MR
  2. 6 inc = 12 sc
    3-5. 12 sc (3 rounds)
  3. (1 sc, dec) x 4 = 8 sc
    7-9. 8 sc (3 rounds)
  4. (2 sc, dec) x 2 = 6 sc
    11-12. 6 sc (2 rounds)

Fasten off with a slip stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing the ears to the head.

Tail:

  1. 6 sc in MR
  2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 = 9 sc
  3. (1 sc, dec) x 3 = 6 sc

Fasten off with a slip stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing the tail to the body.

Body (crocheted in one piece):

  1. 6 sc in MR
  2. 6 inc = 12 sc
  3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18 sc
  4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 = 24 sc
  5. 24 sc (1 round)

Now we start crocheting the lower paws:

  1. Crochet 3 sc together with the first paw, 9 sc across the body, 3 sc with the second paw, 9 sc across the body = 24 sc
    7-9. 24 sc (3 rounds)

Next, we shape the belly with decreases:

  1. 3 sc, (1 sc, dec) x 3, 12 sc = 21 sc
  2. 1 sc, (1 sc, dec) x 3, 11 sc = 18 sc

In the next round, we crochet the upper paws. Make sure they are on the sides of the body:

  1. Crochet 3 sc together with the first paw, 5 sc across the body, 3 sc with the second paw, 7 sc across the body. Stuff the body, shaping the belly.
  2. (1 sc, dec) x 6 = 12 sc

Don’t cut the yarn yet; continue crocheting.

Head:

  1. (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18 sc
  2. (2 sc, inc) x 6 = 24 sc
  3. (3 sc, inc) x 6 = 30 sc
    4-8. 30 sc (5 rounds)
  4. (3 sc, dec) x 6 = 24 sc

Insert safety eyes between the 5th and 6th rounds, spaced 3 stitches apart. The nose should be placed between the 4th and 5th rounds.

  1. (2 sc, dec) x 6 = 18 sc
  2. (1 sc, dec) x 6 = 12 sc
  3. 6 dec

Close the remaining hole, fasten off, and weave in the ends.

Finishing:

  • Sew all the parts together.
  • Add a slight indentation to the muzzle for shaping.
  • Embroider the eyebrows and nose.
