Front Legs:

  1. Using beige yarn and a 4.5 mm hook – ch 2, 6 sc into the second chain from the hook
  2. (2 sc, inc) * 2 = 8
    3-4. 2 rounds = 8
    5-8. 4 rounds = 8
  3. (2 sc, dec) * 2 = 6, crochet together both sides with 3 sc, fasten off and weave in the end.

Make the second leg in the same way.

Legs – Body – Head:

Start crocheting with the legs in red boots. Use red yarn and a 4.5 mm hook for the left lower leg:

  1. Ch 2, 6 sc into the second chain from the hook
  2. inc * 6 = 12
    3-4. 2 rounds = 12
  3. (dec * 3, 3 sc) = 9
  4. 9 sc

Change to beige yarn:
7-9. 3 rounds = 9, sl st, fasten off and weave in the end.

Repeat the same process for the right leg, but instead of cutting the yarn, continue as follows:

  1. Ch 1, 9 sc along the left leg, 10th sc into the base of the first sc on the left leg; sc along the chain; 9 sc along the right leg, 10th sc into the base of the first sc on the right leg = 22. Here, it’s recommended to mark the beginning of the round.
  2. 10 sc, inc, sc, inc, 9 sc = 24
    12-13. 2 rounds = 24

Face:

  1. Using beige yarn and a 4.5 mm hook – ch 2, 6 sc into the second chain from the hook
  2. inc * 6 = 12
  3. (sc, inc) * 6 = 18
4-5. 2 rounds = 18, sl st, fasten off and weave in the end.

Ears:

  1. Using beige yarn and a 4.5 mm hook – ch 2, 6 sc into the second chain from the hook
  2. (sc, inc) * 3 = 9
  3. (2 sc, inc) * 3 = 12
4-5. 2 rounds = 12, sl st, fold in half, crochet both sides together with 3 sc, fasten off and weave in the end.

Make the second ear the same way.

Antlers:

  1. Using brown yarn and a 4 mm hook – ch 2, 5 sc into the second chain from the hook
    2-3. 2 rounds = 5
  2. sc, 3 dc in one stitch, 3 sc
  3. sc, 3 dc with one top, 3 sc
6-7. 2 rounds = 5, sl st, fasten off and weave in the end.

Add stuffing to the antlers.

Assembly and Details:

  • Sew the face onto the body at the level of rounds 23-28. Add stuffing to the head.
  • Using red plush yarn, embroider the nose, and with regular yarn, embroider the mouth.
  • Sew the ears onto the head, slightly behind them, sew on the antlers in a circle.
  • Attach small bead eyes.
  • Make a cute scarf for the fawn to wear and admire your work!
