Enjoy your crocheting!
Body:
Start crocheting with white yarn:
- 6 SC into magic ring
- 6 inc = 12
- (1 SC, 1 inc) *6 = 18
- (2 SC, 1 inc) *6 = 24
- (3 SC, 1 inc) *6 = 30
- 1 SC, 1 inc, (4 SC, 1 inc) *5, 3 SC = 36
- (5 SC, 1 inc) *6 = 42
- 3 SC, 1 inc, (6 SC, 1 inc) *5, 3 SC = 48
9-13. Repeat 48 stitches - (6 SC, 1 dec) *6 = 42
- (12 SC, 1 dec) *3 = 39
- 5 SC, 1 dec, (11 SC, 1 dec) *2, 6 SC = 36
17-21. Repeat 36 stitches
Change yarn to black: - (10 SC, 1 dec) *3 = 33
- 3 SC, 1 dec, (9 SC, 1 dec) *2, 6 SC = 30
- (8 SC, 1 dec) *3 = 27
25-26. Crochet 27 stitches
Leave a yarn tail for sewing the head, cut the yarn.
Stuff the body evenly with stuffing.
Head:
Start crocheting the head with the snout, using white yarn:
- 6 SC into magic ring
- 6 inc = 12
- 2 SC, 3 SC in one stitch *2, 4 SC, 3 SC in one stitch *2, 2 SC = 20
4-5. Repeat 20 stitches - 5 SC, 10 inc, 5 SC = 30
- 9 SC, (1 inc, 1 SC) *3, (1 SC, 1 inc) *3, 9 SC = 36
- 6 SC, (1 inc, 2 SC) *4, (2 SC, 1 inc) *4, 6 SC = 44
- 13 SC, (1 inc, 4 SC) *3, 1 inc, 16 SC = 48. At the end of the row, crochet 2 extra stitches to shift the start of the row to the center of the snout.
- 11 SC, (1 inc, 4 SC) *5, 1 inc, 11 SC = 54
11-18. Repeat 54 stitches - 9 SC, 3 dec, 24 SC, 3 dec, 9 SC = 48
By decreasing stitches in a row, you get a slight oval effect. If you want a fully round head, decrease in the usual way:
(7 SC, 1 dec) *6 = 48 - 3 SC, 1 dec, (6 SC, 1 dec) *5, 3 SC = 42
- (5 SC, 1 dec) *6 = 36
Stuff the head with stuffing, making sure the snout is tightly filled.
Continue crocheting: - 2 SC, 1 dec, (4 SC, 1 dec) *5, 2 SC = 30
- (3 SC, 1 dec) *6 = 24
- (2 SC, 1 dec) *6 = 18
- (1 SC, 1 dec) *6 = 12
Stuff the head with stuffing. - 6 dec = 6
Tighten the magic ring, cut the yarn, hide the end.
Sew the head to the body. Embroider the nose with black thread as shown in the picture.
Lower paws:
Chain 6
- 2 SC into the second chain from the hook, 3 SC, 4 SC into one stitch, 3 SC, 2 SC into the last chain = 14
- 3 SC in one stitch, 1 inc, 4 SC, 2 inc, 4 SC, 1 inc, 3 SC in one stitch = 22
- 1 SC, 1 inc, 18 SC, 1 inc, 1 SC = 24
- 24 stitches around
- 8 SC, 4 dec, 8 SC = 20. Stuff the paw gradually.
- 7 SC, 3 dec, 7 SC = 17
- 6 SC, 2 dec, 7 SC = 15
8-13. Repeat 15 stitches (6 rows) - (3 SC, 1 dec) *3 = 12
- 6 decreases, tighten the hole, cut the yarn.
Upper paws:
- 6 SC into a magic ring
- 6 inc = 12
- (3 SC, 1 inc) *3 = 15
- 13 SC, 1 dec = 14
- 12 SC, 1 dec = 13
- 11 SC, 1 dec = 12
- 10 SC, 1 dec = 11
- 9 SC, 1 dec = 10
Fold the paw in half, sew with a needle, attach to the body.
Spots:
- 6 SC into a magic ring
- Crochet this row with a transition to the next:
1 SC and 2 DC in one stitch, 3 SC, 3 DC in one stitch, 3 slip stitches.
For the second spot, crochet in “mirror image”:
3 DC in one stitch, 3 SC, 2 DC and 1 SC in one stitch, 3 slip stitches.
Sew the spots with the convex side facing inward (towards the nose).
Tail:
- 6 SC into a magic ring
- 6 inc = 12
- 12 stitches
Sew the tail to the body, stuff lightly with filling.
Ears:
- 6 SC into a magic ring
- 6 inc = 12
- 12 stitches
Crochet 2 pieces, fold in half, sew.
Attach all the pieces. Panda is ready!
