Amigurumi Jellyfish Free Crochet Pattern

The soft jellyfish are crocheted using Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn. Use a crochet hook size 3.5–4. From two skeins, you can make three jellyfish.

Abbreviations:

  • MR — magic ring
  • ch — chain
  • sc — single crochet
  • dc — double crochet
  • sl st — slip stitch
  • inc — increase
  • dec — decrease


Amigurumi Jellyfish Crochet

Base (where the tentacles will be attached)
Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: (inc) x 6 times (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30)
Round 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 times (36)

Tentacles (two types)

  1. Chain 27 + 1 ch for turning, crochet 2 sc in each ch along the chain.
    Make 5 of these elements.
    Attach to the 3rd round of the base.
  2. Chain 30
    Make 5–7 of these elements.
    Attach between the 4th and 5th rounds of the base.

Head:


Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: (inc) x 6 times (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30)
Round 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 times (36)
Round 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 times (42)
Round 8: (6 sc, inc) x 6 times (48)
Rounds 9 – 12: 48 sc
Round 13: (6 sc, dec) x 6 times (42)
Round 14: (5 sc, dec) x 6 times (36)
Do not cut the yarn.

Join the top and bottom parts.
Insert the hook through the stitches of both parts.
Round 17: 1 sc to join the two parts, skip 1 stitch of the base, 5 dc in the next sc, skip 1 stitch of the base, 5 dc in the next sc, skip 1 stitch of the base… repeat to the end of the round, sl st.

Attach the eyes between the round with increases and the unchanged round, cut off the excess yarn at the ends of the tentacles.
You can slightly tint the cheeks with dry pastel or powder.
